Local 338 Scholarship Awards Program
The 2012 Local 338 Scholarship Awards Program, including the Emanuel Laub Scholarship, was established to honor the late Local 338 President Emanuel Laub. It is open only to Local 338 Members and their families who have been a member of the union for at least one year. The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and awards 10 students a one time award of $1000 for their first year of college. One student, the Emanuel Laub Scholarship recipient, will be awarded $1000 a year for all four years in annual installments.

The application deadline is April 15, 2012.

UFCW Scholarship Program
As a member of Local 338 RWDSU / UFCW, you and members of your family are eligible for scholarship assistance from the UFCW's Scholarship Program.   For the 2012 awards, the International will accept online applications from any student who has graduated from high school, will be graduating in the spring of 2012, or has received their GED. This year the International will award at least six scholarships worth up to $8,000 each over four years.  

The deadline for applications is April 16, 2012.

Alvin E. Heaps Scholarship Application
All RWDSU members and their children are eligible to apply for the Alvin E. Heaps Scholarships. Scholarships are financial assistance for one academic year. Several awards are given out each year.

Union Plus Benefits Social Media Scholarships
Union Plus is offering two $500 scholarships to union members and their dependents. To enter, simply follow Union Plus on their Facebook or Twitter.  Then write a tweet or post a haiku poem on their Facebook page explaining how you plan to use your education to help build the labor movement. 

The deadline was November 30, 2011. Check back for updates on applying in 2012. 


UFCW Region 1 South Women's Network Day Care Scholarship
As a member of Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW, you are entitled to apply for the UFCW Women's Network Day Care Scholarship for your dependent child/children.

The deadline was November 30, 2011. Check back in Spring 2012 to apply for next year's scholarship.



Union Plus Scholarships
All Local 338 members and their families are entitled to apply for the Union Plus Scholarship Award. Check out the Union Plus Scholarship Program,  Union Plus National Labor College Scholarship and many other union-sponsored scholarship opportunities.

The application deadline was January 31, 2012. Please check back in Fall 2012 for more information about applying to next year's scholarship.
